What is Ringworm and how is it spread ?

Ringworm is a very common skin infection that causes a ring-like red rash on the skin. The rash can appear almost anywhere on the body, with the scalp, feet and groin being common sites.

The condition, medically known as “tinea”, isn’t serious and is usually easily treated using creams that you can buy from the pharmacy, in some cases. However, ringworm is highly contagious and is easily spread among people.

Despite its name, it doesn’t have anything to do with worms. It’s an infection of the skin caused by a fungus.

Ringworm is passed between people through direct skin contact and by sharing objects such as towels, hairbrushes and bedding. Pets such as dogs and cats can have ringworm and can pass it on to people they come into contact with.

Ok. The Home Treatments:

1 ) Indian Fish Treatment: Indian medicine has utilized fish to cure a number of skin diseases. The infected region of the skin is first coated by jam (fruit jams) and then immersed in the water with silverfish and loach. The fish eat the jam along with all the infected skin and the bacteria on the skin and this method has helped treat ringworm..

2 ) Apple Cider Vinegar Treatment: Dip a cotton ball in apple cider vinegar and dab it over the infected area. You can simply soak a band-aid in apple cider solution and keep it wrapped over the wound for quick healing.

3 ) Chitosan Shampoo Treatment: Another ringworm treatment for humans includes using of Chitosan and Chitin in Indonesian cities. The Chitosan is the shampoo created from the exoskeleton of crabs (which is called chitin) and this is later used as ringworm treatment for humans.

4 ) Licorice Powder Treatment: Powder of licorice root is an effective cure for Tenia. Mix it water to make a paste and apply on the skin directly. If you are capable of bearing high stinging sensation mix one or two drops of basil extract to the paste. This will kill all the harmful germs in the wound immediately.
